Instagram Winner's Adventures

Club Owner @panutaiwat, Khun Sangsan won 5,000 Club Points for his winning photo for the Anantara Vacation Club Instagram competition. The winning photo is a shot of his daughter standing on the balcony of the two-bedroom hotel room at Oaks Shores in Queenstown in New Zealand he stayed at with his family. The background view is so stunning that after posting the photo on Facebook, many family friends decided they too wanted to experience this beautiful part of the world.
Sharing in the glory of the win is Khun Sansan's wife, Khun Daranee, who reveals the family's Club Owner experiences, including a snapshot of the holiday which inspired the winning Instagram shot.

Congratulations to you and your husband on your prize! Do you have any plans on how to use your Club Points win?
We are thrilled to win, because Anantara Vacation Club has given us the opportunity to take so many beautiful holiday pictures and we are happy to have had the chance to share them with you. We may use the Club Points reward to treat ourselves on our next Anantara Vacation Club holiday.
Who did you travel with and what made the trip so special?
On our New Zealand Trip at Anantara Vacation Club at Oaks Shore there were four of us, myself, my husband, my daughter and my mother-in-law. The scenery was breathtaking wherever we went and it was especially memorable because it was the very first time we have taken our daughter skiing.
How did you become a part of Anantara Vacation Club?

After searching on the web for a suitable hotel to stay at, we decided to book a room at Anantara Bophut, as it looked lovely. During our stay we were offered a voucher in return for sitting in on an Anantara Vacation Club presentation. We decided to join because luxury and pampering at a discounted rate for the next 28 years seemed really worth it. As soon as we joined we were immediately upgraded to the Anantara Beachfront Pool Suite. It is, to this date, the best hotel room I have ever stayed in.
From your holiday photos it seems like you have visited many places with Anantara Vacation Club.
We have! We've stayed at eight different Club Resorts and Club Escapes so far, in Phuket, Hua Hin and Koh Samui in Thailand on five occasions; in beautiful Bali in Indonesia; in the stunning Maldives twice; in fascinating Hoi-An in Vietnam; and also, of course in New Zealand.

Tell us about some of your memorable Anantara Vacation Club stays.
At Anantara Vacation Club Bophut in Koh Samui we felt spoiled by the size of our private swimming pool, the spacious layout and stylish decor, the size of the bathrooms, and most of all by being right on the beach. Everything seemed just right and we felt so relaxed and content. I had booked our vacation for only three nights and was sorry we hadn't booked a longer stay. We long to go back there again. If any Club Owners are thinking of booking here then one tip I'd offer is that there really is no need to leave the sanctuary of this resort. Simply stay and enjoy!

Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort & Spa made us feel extra pampered for our five night stay. Everyone was so polite and helpful and made us feel special. In the late afternoons the resort arranges an activity on the beach which is fun. During our stay we enjoyed complimentary drinks and canapés, a traditional Indonesian dance show and a seaside art exhibition. I would recommend Club Owners who stay here visit Jimbaran as it is a lovely place to dine by the beach after sun down, with great food and ambience.
Anantara Dhigu Resort & Spa in the Maldives is like leaving earth behind and entering paradise. It is quiet, secluded and beautiful; and seemed to drain all our worries away with the mesmerising clear turquoise waters. Dhigu also has a great kids club with lots of activities that kept our daughter entertained and gave the grownups the chance to fully relax. We have been to Dhigu twice and stayed for four nights each time. What's good to know is that kids under the age of six dine free from the kids menu. Also, during your stay you must visit the Anantara Spa, it is definitely one of the best.

Our most recent stay was at Anantara Vacation Club at Oaks Shores in Queenstown, where my husband snapped the winning Instagram contest photo. Queenstown has the most spectacular views in the world. Oaks Shores is by a lake and the view from the hotel room was so magnificent that it was an effort to tear our eyes away from the living room window. The rest of Queenstown is no less breathtaking and we took some of our best holiday photos we've ever taken on this trip. The Two Bedroom Lake View Apartment is spacious, cosy and has everything you need in a live-in apartment style. The kitchen is fully equipped and we had fun cooking during out seven night stay, which felt way too short. My tip for a stay here is that if you enjoy gourmet burgers then visit Fergburger, but go mid-morning of late-afternoon otherwise you will be queuing up!

What camera do you use to take your fantastic holiday snaps?
We mostly use our Canon IXUS digital camera. It's just a small one, nothing fancy. Sometimes we just take photos with an iPhone. I think we take around 30-50 photos per trip.
We just launched a partnership with Diamond Resort International which offers stays in Asia and Europe. Would you like to travel to these destinations in 2015?
I am really excited to hear that. I would love to stay at a partnership hotel somewhere in Europe. At the moment, Italy is our dream destination.
What do you love about Anantara Vacation Club?
It’s hard to explain. It’s a combination of so much that makes Anantara Vacation Club the perfect holiday style for our family. |

I love that Anantara Vacation Club does not generally separate the Club Owners from the guests, unlike some shared holiday setups where the owners sometimes seem to be downgraded from the main hotel.
Can you share any of your favourite filters and photo apps?
We usually only filter the pictures using Instagram. However, together with my husband, we recently made a photobook of our holiday snaps and downloaded a free app from printcafe.co.th to design it. The results are gorgeous!
And finally, what makes a great holiday photo?
A great holiday photo to me is a photo that, whenever you see it, brings you right back to that moment in time when the photo was taken; where all your memories come flooding in.
