SPECIAL MESSAGE
FROM VICE PRESIDENT CLUB OPERATIONS, MELANIE SMITH

In my role as Vice President Club Operations, one of my key responsibilities is to ensure the Club Resorts are properly maintained and serviced, providing high levels of Owner satisfaction when they vacation.

I have recently returned from the Anantara Vacation Club Seminyak Bali Resort where I was able to view some of the renovated bathrooms, and extensive Preventative Maintenance program that has taken place at this resort over the last 9 months. I am pleased to report that these works have lifted the standard of the Villas, providing luxurious bathrooms, whilst at the same time maintaining the Balinese feel, with the addition of an outside shower and upgraded finishings.

Whilst in Bali I was humbled, as part of the Resort’s Corporate and Social Responsibility program, to participate in some charity work with the Resort team at a Nursing Home in Denpasar. Spending time with the residents made me think about how precious life is, and how important it is that we spend quality time with our family and friends creating memories that surround us forevermore.

With that in mind, I encourage our Owners to start planning their next vacation and what better place to visit than Bali - Island of Gods. I’ve been travelling to Bali since I was 12 and have visited more than 40 times. People often ask me what it is that makes me go back to Bali time and again, and that’s simple to answer – I love the people, the culture, the climate, the food, the shopping and everything there is to do in Bali.

Bali is a wonderland for everyone, whether you are 2 or 102. Here are my top three reasons why:

1. Bali is a kids’ playground
Whether you are holidaying with kids or are young at heart, Bali is a fun destination. Animal-lovers can visit Bali Zoo, Bali Bird Park and Reptile Park, as well as Ubud Monkey Forest. Since you are by the beach, you can enjoy water sports such as surfing, snorkelling and diving, as well as parasailing and jet skiing. You can visit Waterbom Bali with its thrilling water slides or surf the waves.

For more adrenaline-fuelled action, try bungee jumping, paint balling and white water rafting, plus cycle tours, go karting and trekking through the jungle. To unwind, visit a temple and meditate, indulge in a spa treatment or practice yoga.

2. Bali is a shopper’s paradise
Bali offers a great bartering experience and it is expected, unless a sign tells you that goods have a fixed price. Start lower than you are prepared to pay and meet somewhere in the middle. You can enjoy exploring shops and stalls for wonderful local crafts and jewellery, and homeware and clothes designed by young emerging Asian fashion designers. In Bali, it’s not just what you can buy for your rupiah but the excitement and fun in discovering the island’s shopping treasures.

3. Bali is… Bali!
The hospitable people, the appetising food, the rich culture, and the stunning beachfronts -- I love everything about Bali. It is an island that fills the senses, makes you feel alive and promises a tropical escape by clear blue waters.

On behalf of all of us at Club Operations, I wish you a Happy Songkran (Thai New Year), and remind you that our Club Services team is available 7 days a week via phone, email and now also Live Chat, to assist you in booking your next vacation. Don’t delay – contact us now.
