Welcome to 2016! The New Year started much the same way as we left the last: stock markets down, then up, then down, oil prices down and currencies are volatile.

Yes, there’s uncertainty and stress in the negative news, which undoubtedly impacts everyone’s propensity to spend, but Martin (Anantara Vacation Club’s Chief Operational Officer) and I firmly believe that this situation makes vacationing, and spending time with family and friends more important than ever.

When I visit one of Anantara Vacation Club’s beautiful locations I immediately de-stress. I relax, jump in the pool, head to the spa, make a Dining by Design reservation.

 

I very quickly begin to forget what is happening in the outside world, most of which I can’t control anyway, and focus on myself and my family.

We all owe it to ourselves to take time out of our busy schedules, to step away from the smart phone, iPad or laptop and spend time investing in the wellbeing of ourselves and our nearest and dearest. So, take a look at what Anantara Vacation Club has in store for you, including the better value opportunities currently on offer with the Anantara Hotels and Resorts in China.

Looking forward, I see another busy but productive year ahead. We begin rolling out improvements to Anantara Vacation Club’s website at the end of Q1 and will continue making changes through to at least July. Announcements will also be forthcoming with respect to new Anantara Vacation Club locations arising out of MINOR International’s investment in Oaks hotels and the recent acquisition of Tivoli hotels in Europe and Brazil as well as Sun City Hotels in Africa. It is too early to officially announce, but AVC is close to finalising terms that will bring added Club Resort inventory to Bangkok.

As I write this note, Chinese New Year, the Year of the Monkey, is fast approaching. To all of Anantara Vacation Club’s current and prospective Chinese Owners the Anantara Vacation Club team and I wish you a healthy and prosperous new year.
