During the summer of 2015, we travelled to Siem Reap in Cambodia with our son. It’s been said that the Angkor monuments are the spirit of Cambodia, as well as the forever-blooming lotuses that Cambodians have placed in front of the Buddha, which represent the supreme glory of the Khmers. Here, you can touch and feel the temperature of the storied Khmer history and civilisation from every single cold stone in Angkor.

Many people yearn to witness the mysterious Angkor in Cambodia. Indeed, the Angkor Wat is truly one of those places that you must see in your lifetime as it has the power to leave you awed, inspired and amazed. We had a wonderfully carefree vacation in Siem Reap and enjoyed learning about bits and pieces of the Khmer culture. Anantara Angkor Resort, where we stayed during our vacation, is tranquil and elegant. The resort treated us to different surprises and delights each day, complementing our goal of experiencing the warmth of the Khmer people, as we witnessed their country’s iconic ruins that have endured through the ages.
