Treat yourself to world-class gourmet dining featuring Michelin-starred chefs at the 17th World Gourmet Festival

Chefs, food experts, and winemakers bring their refined tastes to heritage-inspired Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel

Nine chefs from some of the world’s most lauded restaurants take their expertise to Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel for the 17th World Gourmet Festival from 19-25 September 2016. Organised by the World Gourmet Society, a gourmet club comprised of food lovers, professionals, and enthusiasts, the week-long festival brings together a diverse culinary fare in one gathering.

See master chefs and expert mixologists in action and take part in the festival’s many events, including a Champagne journey at the hotel lobby featuring six prestigious houses. Those keen on gin can join a Gin Masterclass or discover mixologist tricks at the Cocktail Masterclass. Sake enthusiasts can learn a few tips from a sake master from Miyasake Brewery at the Sake Tasting event. The festival concludes with the much anticipated World Gourmet Brunch with TV personality and chef, Bobby Chinn, as host. The event will be attended by some of the most distinguished chefs from the San Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Here are some of the most awaited chefs of the festival:

Chef Mauro Colagreco – Founder and Chef at the two-Michelin star restaurant Mirazur, Menton, France

Chef Mauro Colagreco earned his first Michelin star in 2007, shortly after opening his first restaurant, Mirazur. The idyllically situated restaurant has since been widely regarded as a premier dining destination and has been included in San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2009. In the same year, he was awarded “Chef of the Year” by the prestigious Gault & Millau restaurant guide.

From 23-24 September, the award-winning chef will bring to Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel his exclusive set dinners at Madison restaurant, and will feature five sumptuous courses to be paired with Champagne or wine.

Bobby Chinn – Chef, Restaurateur, TV Personality and Cookbook Author

Having savoured a great variety of cuisine from his travels, Chef Bobby Chinn has developed a passion for food and cooking. In 1996, he took his culinary adventures in Vietnam where he opened two restaurants, Restaurant Bobby Chinn in Hanoi (2001) and Bobby Chinn Saigon in Ho Chi Minh (2011). He then took his love for Vietnamese food and flavours to London where he launched The House of Ho in 2014.

On 24 September, he will take over Aqua bar and lounge with his band and act as the headliner at the annual closing ceremony and Sunday Brunch on 25 September.

Sunday Brunch is available from 11.30 am to 3.00 pm, THB 4,500++ per person including free-flow Champagne and entertainment.

Ana Roš – Co-Owner and Chef at Hiša Franko, Kobarid, Slovenia

World-renowned Chef Ana Roš co-owns Hiša Franko, a rustic roadside restaurant where the great American novelist Ernest Hemingway was said to have written one of his most enduring novels, A Farewell to Arms. Chef Roš heads the family restaurant where she crafts delicate dishes marked by flowery, herbal, yet delicate and precise techniques, a distinction that made her the only woman to have joined the Cook it Raw environmental and cooking initiative.

From 23-24 September, Chef Roš takes her distinctive cooking styles to Spice Market where her fine creations can be savoured with impeccable wine pairing.

Dharshan Munidasa – Founder and Chef of Ministry of Crab, Colombo, Sri Lanka

Chef Dharshan Munidasa’s founded two of Sri Lanka’s most successful restaurants, Nihonbashi and the Ministry of Crab, known for their strong ingredient focus, employing the use of fresh local produce alongside Japanese culinary principles.

The Sri Lankan chef’s culinary background is remarkable for its lack of formal education in cuisine. From 19-20 September, he brings his talents and techniques to Spice Market for a seven-course dinner.

Nightly seating at 7:00 pm, THB 5,000++ per person, including alcohol.
